Description
Domaine Chevallier
Domaine Chevallier in Montallery is a little village surrounded by hills in the Burgundy region of France, specifically in the Chablis area. The winery’s location is approximately 12 kilometers from the town of Chablis itself.
Descended from a long line of winegrowers based in Courgis, the family’s roots in agriculture date back to 1788, when generations before cultivated the land through mixed farming — cereals, livestock, and vines.
In 1986, brothers Claude and Jean-Louis decided to revive their ancestral wine making tradition. Claude, driven by a deep passion for wine, focused on developing the vineyards, while Jean-Louis continued to oversee the family’s cereal farming activities.
The first vines were planted in the districts of Beines, later expanding to Courgis and Chablis, laying the foundation for the estate’s distinctive style and quality.
Since January 2018, the next generation — Céline and Tommy — have taken over the management of the domaine, carrying forward the family’s commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship, and respect for the Chablis terroir.
