Description
Other than being an architectural jewel of the Chianti Classico region, Starda has 8 hectares of vineyards and produces a Chianti Classico DOCG, Olive Oil, Vin Santo and Grappa; all with the brand of Malaspina, in honour of the ancient aristocratic family who lived there.
The basis of success of Tuscan wines is the indigenous Sangiovese grape. It is our philosophy to maximise the great potential of the classical grape and its modern clones, without neglecting the traditions of the Chianti Classico region.
To further improve the quality of its wines, the Fattoria Castello di Starda employs only traditional methods of harvesting; grapes are exclusively picked by hand, transported in small crates to the wine cellar, where they are subjected to a final manual selection on a conveyor-belt, in order to assure that only the best and healthy grapes are used for the production of our wines
